A man has been taken to Southland Hospital after a quad bike crash near Riverton this morning.

Emergency services responded to the crash on a rural property on Ward Rd just after 6.30am.Southern deployment co-ordinator Senior Sergeant Craig Brown said police , fire and ambulance attended.

The crash was reported as serious at the time but an ambulance communications spokeswoman said the man was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
