NZ grown label targets fresh produce

Home grown fruit and vegetables will be easier to spot thanks to a new country of origin label.
The Buy NZ Made campaign has launched the "NZ Grown" logo so growers and producers can use the kiwi-in-the-triangle logo on their fresh produce.
Research recently conducted by Research International on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Development identified that eight out of 10 consumers recognise the logo, as do nine out of ten manufacturers.
Buy New Zealand Made director Marcia Dunnett said today the time had never been better to help consumers identify home grown produce.
"We encourage producers to consider using the logo on fresh produce as soon as possible," Ms Dunnett said.
