A 67-year-old Motueka man died after a tractor he was driving rolled at a Lower Moutere property this morning.

The accident happened about 8.25am when the man was mowing an apple orchard in Seaview Ave.

Workers in the area were unable to free the man who was pinned underneath the tractor and died at the scene.

A WorkSafe New Zealand spokesperson said it had been notified of the incident and an investigation was under way.
