Heavier prime lambs increased slightly at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.

The best prime lambs made $92-$100 with the odd sale to $110.

Prices were on par with last week for prime ewes, and better ewes made $80 to $85.

Store lambs were unchanged with the best making $55 to $60.

Prime steers made 175c/kg to 187c with sales to 193c.

Prime lambs

Values: A light yarding of prime lambs increased slightly in value for heavier types. The best lambs made $92-$100 with the odd sale to $110, medium $85-$90 and light $70-$75.

Values: Prices similar to previous weeks in a small yarding of prime sheep. The best ewes made $80-$85 with the odd sale at $88, medium $68-$79 and lighter $50-$62.

Values: A medium-sized yarding of store lambs remained on par with last week. The best lambs made $55-$60 with the odd sale to $65, medium $45-$50 and small $35-$40.

Values: A yarding of plain type prime cattle was on offer. The better quality cattle sold well but numbers were limited. Steers made 175c/kg to 187c with sales to 193c, heifers 175c to 185 with sales to 190c, cows 115c to 130c with sales to 135c and bulls 188c.
