Prime lamb prices eased $2 to $3 at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.

In a good quality yarding heavy lambs made $120.

Store lambs held their value in a large yarding and top prime ewes made $110 to $130 in a steady market.

The prime cattle market rose 3 to 5 cents a kilogram.

Prime lambs

Values: In a good yarding of quality prime lambs the market eased $2 to $3 a head across all weights. Heavy lambs made $120 to $130, medium $105 to $117 and lighter $90 to $100.

Values: In a larger yarding of store lambs, mainly fine-wool breeds from North Canterbury and Marlborough, prices were on a par with last week. The best lambs made $80 to $85 with the odd pen to $90, medium $63 to $78, small $55 to $60 and tail end $40 to $46.
