Heavyweight lambs were unchanged as the rest of the prime lamb market eased at livestock sales at Canterbury Agricultural Park, in Christchurch, this week.

Prices remained steady for prime ewes with better ewes at $105 to $115 and those above nearing the top lamb lots at $126.

Some store lambs rose from last week and better lambs made $70 - $75.

Prime steers did well, reaching 220c/kg to 237c with sales to 241c.

Prime lambs

Values: All lambs except heavyweights eased slightly. The best lambs made $120 - $125 with the odd sale to $134, medium $110 - $118 and light $90 - $100.

Values: A medium sized yarding of prime cattle was on offer. The quality overall was good with some very good steers meeting strong competition. Steers made 220c/kg to 237 with sales to 241c, heifers 200c to 225c with sales to 230c, cows 130c to 155c with sales to 161c, bulls 200c to 225c.
