Prime lamb prices eased in line with a meat schedule drop at livestock sales at Coalgate last week.

Prime lambs

Values: Lambs were on par with the values of recent weeks except for a slight easing reflecting the predicted meat schedule drop. Tops made $115 - $125, good $105 - $115, medium $95 - $105 and light $85 - $100.

Values: Good quality store lambs met with strong demand and sold on par with recent sales. Smaller lines of mixed quality lambs were harder to sell. Tops made $65 - $75, good $55 - $65, medium $40 - $55 and light $20 - $40.

Values: A small yarding of store cattle was made up of mostly calves and the market came under pressure from drying conditions. The 15-month- old steers made $2/kg - $2.20 and bull calves $250 - $300.
