Wellington Eftpos provider Viaduct says winning preferred supplier status with the Retailers Association will grow its business by 25 per cent.

The association will recommend its 6000 members, which have about 14,000 stores, use Viaduct's Eftpos products. Association chief executive John Albertson said Westpac and ProvencoCadmus were previously preferred suppliers. Viaduct would replace ProvencoCadmus alongside Westpac.

Viaduct had a wider range of products, and ProvencoCadmus' payments division no longer held the rights to distribute and support the Hypercom Eftpos terminals, he said.

Viaduct director Mark Unwin said it would give the association's members a 15 per cent discount on some products, and would hire four more staff to meet the expected increase in demand.

The company, which is not connected to finance firm Viaduct Capital, has 26 staff.
