The Commerce Commission has issued papers updating its thinking around pricing methodologies for electricity and gas pipeline services and some airport services.
The commission is investigating inputs the industries use to set prices, including the valuation of land in the case of airports, and lines and pipes for the electricity and gas sector. The papers follow on from a September conference and subsequent cross-submissions.
Submissions on the papers will be accepted till early February, before workshops later that month and in March. A new regulatory regime is due to take effect for airports from 2011. The electricity and gas sectors disclosure regimes will be amended once pricing input methodologies have been set.
