Withers apponted AIA chairwoman
BY ANDREA FOX
Long-serving Auckland International Airport director Joan Withers has been appointed chairwoman to succeed Tony Frankham in October.
A director of the listed airport company for 14 years, Withers is also chairman of Mighty River Power and deputy chairman of Television New Zealand.
Frankham, who had chaired the company since 2007 and was a director for 18 years, did not seek reappointment as a director.
"It is desirable that the membership of the Auckland Airport board continues to be refreshed," he said.
The board is now searching for a new director, one with significant international airline experience.
Withers and director Lloyd Morrision retire this year by rotation and will seek re-election at the company's annual meeting on October 28.
Directors unanimously supported the re-election of both directors, a statement said
