New Zealand's best TV ad has been named as Sky's leaf-blower commercial with the overall award for "best-in-show" campaign going to Yellow Pages' Yellow Chocolate.

The Communication Agencies Association (CAANZ) Axis Awards last night were dominated by Colenso BBDO's Yellow Pages campaign which won gold in six categories of direct marketing, experiential, digital and interactive, creative business of the year and the Grand Axis.

Director Nathan Price cemented his place in the top rank of New Zealand film-makers with his commercial of a man with a leafblower walking through, and causing havoc in, various scenes from Sky TV's channels.

The ad, created by advertising agency DDB, won awards for best single TV commercial, visual craft, and directing.
Price's company Capital City Films won Production Company of the Year.

This judging panel was comprised of 50 New Zealand creatives and three international judges - Andy Fackrell, Executive Creative Director of 180 Amsterdam, Dejan Rasic of Colman Rasic in Sydney and Bryan Rowles of Los Angeles agency 72andSunny.

The Emerging Talent award went to Kia Heinnen and Zoe Hawkins from Colenso BBDO.
