Clothing retailer Ezibuy has struck a deal with popular UK chain Next to sell its garments to Kiwi customers.

Multi-channel retailer Ezibuy - which distributes up to 20,000 items a day - will market Next's womenswear, menswear, accessories and children's clothing from August.

It expects around 10 per cent of its existing 1.5 million customers will buy from the range. Stock will be delivered straight from the UK in a 'drop ship' arrangement, but returns will be handled by Ezibuy's Palmerston North distribution centre.

"Customers will be able to order everything in one go but will receive two packages if they purchase both EziBuy and Next items," chief executive Simon West said.

"It provides us with many opportunities for further growth and we are actively looking for other similar partnerships. Drop ship arrangements have the advantage of reducing the amount of stock we need to keep in New Zealand, while enabling customers to get the latest international fashions in less than a week."

Ezibuy was established 35 years ago in Palmerston North as a mail order catalogue which it still produces alongside four retail stores and website sales to customers in New Zealand and Australia.
