Westpac says some customers are having difficulty accessing its online banking service.
Spokeswoman Hayley Lynch said the problem was not affecting all customers and the bank did not yet know the cause, including whether it was an internal issue or the result of an external attack.
The bank became aware of the problem this morning. It was investigating and hoped to resolve the issue shortly, she said.
Westpac reported the fault shortly before noon, saying some customers were experiencing ''slow response times'' accessing online banking.
