Porirua-based chocolate maker Whittaker's has moved up two places from 2011 to be this country's most trusted brand in an annual Reader's Digest survey.
The 2011 number one, St John, was pushed back to second this year, while cooking and baking goods brand Edmonds debuted in third place.
Wattie's was unchanged from last year at fourth, Sanitarium moved up three places to fifth, Tip Top slipped a place to sixth, Lemon & Paeroa lifted three spots to seventh, Dettol slipped from runner up last year to eighth place, Toyota was unchanged at nine, and Colgate slipped three places to 10th.
Results of the eighth annual survey are published today in the August issue of Reader's Digest New Zealand. Over 1200 people voted in the online survey.
Some solid favourite category brands were confirmed again. Sony topped electronics and Fisher & Paykel led whitegoods, with both companies having been number one in their categories since the survey began in 2005.
