The country’s 140,000 users of ASB’s mobile banking app can now use it to pay for items they buy on Trade Me.

The bank’s general manager of brand experience and digital channels, Anna Curzon, said Trade Me had transformed the way Kiwis buy and sell online and being able to pay sellers directly without exchanging bank account numbers would make life easier.

Users select an item to pay for, choose which ASB account they want to use and receive instant confirmation that payment has been sent. Trade Me sellers then receive a notification email telling them how to collect their payment.
