A nationwide ANZ eftpos glitch has been resolved, the bank says.
The ANZ network went down for more than an hour today, affecting all debit and credit card transactions and all ANZ acquired merchants processing any card.
An ANZ spokesman said the outage was caused by a telecommunications issue that "briefly disrupted credit card and eftpos transactions at some merchants".
It did not affect ATM transactions, he said.
"The issue has been resolved now and affected merchants should now be back online. It's not clear how many merchants were affected,'' he said.
"We'd like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience the outage has caused."
