Arrest after Paparangi stabbing

A man is in hospital and another in custody after a stabbing in Wellington.

Police were called to Helston Road in Paparangi by a member of the public shortly about 2pm after the injured man arrived at their front door asking for help.

He had multiple stab wounds.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by police shortly after they arrived at the scene.

He will appear in the Wellington District Court charged with wounding with intent.

The two men are known to each other and the police said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Scene examination will continue tomorrow, looking for the alleged weapon, believed to be a knife.

The injured man was in Wellington Hospital in a stable condition.
