Matt Proctor will make the jump from club to Super Rugby, having been named to start at fullback for the Hurricanes in place of the injured Andre Taylor.

Proctor scored kicked a conversion for Oriental-Rongotai in last Saturday's 23-12 Swindale Shield loss to Petone and will now line up against the Blues at Eden Park on Saturday night.

The match will be perennial Blues signing target Beauden Barrett's 50th game for the Hurricanes and he'll organise a backline which, Proctor apart, is the same which conquered the Chiefs last Saturday.

Things are more fluid in the pack, where players have been placed in a variety of brackets.

Loosehead prop Ben Franks' groin injury has seen him bracketed with Reggie Goodes. Brendon Edmonds will come onto the bench if Goodes ends up starting.

No less than four potential hookers - Goodes, Ash Dixon, Motu Matu'u and Michael Kainga - have been named on the bench to back up starter Dane Coles.

Hurricanes: Matt Proctor, Cory Jane, Conrad Smith (c), Alapati Leiua, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Victor Vito, Jack Lam, Faifili Levave, James Broadhurst, Jeremy Thrush, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Dane Coles, Ben Franks/Reggie Goodes. Reserves: Ash Dixon/Motu Matu'u/Goodes/ Michael Kainga, Chris Eves, Goodes/Brendon Edmonds, Brad Shields, Ardie Savea, Chris Smylie, Tim Bateman, James Marshall.
