Two men will appear in court today after threatening two people outside the Levin mall and stealing their car.
Levin Senior Sergeant Sarn Paroli said a man and woman in their 20s were sitting in a car outside the Levin mall using the WiFi internet connection from the Te Takare culture and community centre when two men approached their vehicle about 9.45pm yesterday.
The men, believed to be carrying weapons, threatened the pair and forced them out of the car. The male victim was injured.
The suspects took off in the vehicle, travelling north on State Highway 1, but they were pulled over by police following a short pursuit just south of Foxton about 10 minutes later.
The men, aged 18 and 19, have been charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in the Levin District Court today.
Paroli said the event was "concerning behaviour and serious offending", and said the pair could face further charges.
