Police have released the name of a woman killed in a car crash in Palmerston North.

Palmerston North woman Zeenath Rahiman, 33, died in a single-car crash on Railway Rd, just outside Palmerston North, about 12.50am today.

A police spokeswoman said preliminary indications suggested the vehicle lost control on a right-hand bend and crossed the centre line.

The vehicle has then gone off the road and struck fence railings and posts.

The Palmerston North Police and Serious Crash Unit were continuing to investigate the crash and her  death has been referred to the coroner.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
