It's amazing that several comments talked about the earthquake as 'cool' and had an air of excitement as if it was a bit of fun. Doh! Have these people never seen what a sizeable earthquake can do to devastate people's lives.
My husband and I felt both earthquakes here in Levin. 1st one really shook the place but the cats and dogs didn't make any fuss; 2nd one much lighter and the house faintly shivered. Not as big as the 1 in '72 in Wellington - that really shook the place up!
I was sound asleep, so I didn't hear anything.I will have to be awake for the next earthquake, so I can experience one.
My bed head was rattling against the wall. I thought it was Mum in the bathroom. Cool
Yes. I felt two earthquakes this morning and one small one about 3.00 am. I am used to them but must admit it's good when they stop. A neighbour's dog barked at the time of the quakes.
i always miss them... mainly cause i live in Australia... i cant wait to live in NZ and be excited about earthquakes!!!!and also feel one
I was sitting at my desk at work. The earthquake produced a gentle swaying motion, no doubt due to it's extreme depth. As always for we Wellingtonians, an interesting experience.
yes i felt it also. the ground was shaking.
yes i felt the earthquake it was a good 1 and a long 1! the earthquake woke me up, but nothing major though, i was awake for a little bit but then i went back to sleep
