Cameras were out in force in Auckland today as the controversial Boobs on Bikes parade made its way through the Central Business District.
Thousands of people turned out for the parade to watch topless porn stars on motorcycles driven from upper Queen St to Quay St as a prelude to the Erotica Expo this weekend.
The route was shorter this year than the previous parade and did not take in the full length of Queen Street.
The crowd made up of tourists, shoppers and office workers was in good spirits.
"The New Zealand economy must have come to a standstill today" an American tourist said.
The event went ahead despite opposition from Auckland mayor Dick Hubbard and conservative family lobby group Family First NZ.
The Erotica Expo has been running since 2000.
