Two teenagers have been arrested for the aggravated burglary of 82-year-old Wainuiomata resident Jack Morrissey.
The partially-blind man feared for his life when he was attacked in his home on Tuesday.
Detective Sergeant Christiaan Barnard said an 18-year-old and 14-year-old were arrested today and jointly charged with aggravated burglary.
"The Hutt Valley Police have been working hard to identify the culprits".
"This result would not have been possible without the assistance members of the Wainuiomata community who are determined not to see the reputation of the place that they live tarnished by such crimes," he said.
The two suspects are being held in police custody and will appear in the Lower Hutt Youth Court tomorrow.
