Shearing record attempt put off

Today's world shearing record attempt by Blair Rhodes at Mangaweka has had to be postponed because his target mob was "over-crutched" in preparation for today.
Rhodes, a 36-year-old "hobby shearer" from Fordell, near Wanganui, was to bid to better the world solo eight-hour strongwool ewe shearing record of 495.
Instead he was shearing the mob of 600 romney ewes today as a practice run, while another mob is sourced for the record bid - now expected to be on January 20.
