Ski operators expect bumper season

Ski operators are gearing up for a busy winter with new research showing an increase in the number of New Zealanders expecting to hit the slopes this season and a rise in demand from Australia.
Research published yesterday showed 510,000 New Zealanders expect to take a ski holiday this winter, with 10 per cent expecting to do more skiing than last year.
A Fly Buys/Colmar Brunton survey showed consistent demand for travel, with 40 per cent of New Zealanders expecting to take an overseas holiday over the next six months.
Winter tourism operators are confident that solid demand from the local market would come alongside a rise in the number of Australians crossing the Tasman to take advantage of more flights and cheaper holidays.
