They are Brent Callaghan (Westpac), Cas Carter (Massey University), Zane Fulljames (NZBus), and Olivier Lacoua (CQ Hotels Wellington), elected at the chamber's annual general meeting.

The new members join president John Milford (Kirkcaldie & Stains), vice-president Peter Cullen (Cullen Law), Ian Cassels (The Wellington Company), John Dow (Agenda Limited), Charles Finny (Saunders Unsworth), Linda Sissons (Wellington Institute of Technology), Richard Stone (Jacksonstone & Partners),  Pierre Woolridge (Optimum Websites) on the Wellington chamber's board.

Milford thanked the outgoing members who stepped down- Simon Arnold (Arnold & Woodhall Ltd), Glenys Coughlan (Positively Wellington Venues), Nigel Kirkpatrick (NEC New Zealand), Steve Maharey (Massey University) - for their respective contributions and said he looked forward to working with the new board.

"The new members bring new skills that will help us drive the city and region forward."

Chief Executive Raewyn Bleakley said the board had a very good feel about it and was well equipped to further build membership and to meet the city's future challenges.

Are more speed cameras good for Wellington's roads?

Yes - if people go slower, they'll drive safer.

Only if they set them up in problem areas, not speed traps.

No - they're a revenue gaining tool only.

Blowed if I know.
