TelstraClear fault in Wellington fixed

TelstraClear has retracted a statement it emailed this morning that said some of its customers in Wellington were unable to make fixed-line calls.

The fault actually occurred yesterday and affected about 400 customers. It was now fixed, spokesman Gary Bowering said.

There was a separate fault this morning that prevented customers from reaching its service centre to report faults, but that had also now been fixed, Bowering said.

Telecom customers in the central North Island were unable to access the internet for at least an hour last night because of another fault.

Vodafone fixed-line customers were unable to make calls - including 111 calls - on Thursday morning.

TelstraClear is now owned by Vodafone.
