An amateur cameraman has filmed a 737 attempting to land in Wellington - but the windy conditions prove too much to handle.

Anyone who has flown into Wellington on a windy day will be familiar with the unnerving feeling as our famous wind buffets the aircraft.

YoutTube user ClubKauri uploaded a video of an Air New Zealand 737-300 attempted a landing in very windy conditions at Wellington airport.

The video is dated from Wednesday this week, when strong winds caused problems in the CBD.

The craft is seen to wobble significantly as it attempts to make a stable landing on the runway, before accelerating and gaining altitude

The lower drink-driving limits from December are:

Great - too much carnage on our roads.

Overkill - targets moderate drinkers, not the heavies

Still too little - make it zero tolerance.

Sensible - punishment is in line with lesser breaches of limit.
