Wishing everyone a wheely cool Christmas
Petone Auto Stop manager Julian Lindsay went overboard ordering tyre stock, but when he saw them all piled up, an idea was sparked.
With input from Paul Knight of adjacent Esplanade business Classic Auto panelbeaters, used and ruined tyres became an unusual Christmas tree. Passing motorists love it.
"We put it up on a Saturday and every third car was tooting . . . people were waving and giving us the thumbs up.
"We've even had people drive in to get a closer look."
