Letter: Wellington public do the right thing

OPINION: On Friday, my son and 10 mates headed off to the sevens in high spirits, among other things. En route and purely by accident, at different times two of the group (one from Australia) lost their wallets. Imagine the scenario: no money, no credit cards and, worst of all, no sevens tickets!
Up steps the Wellington public - the two wallets were separately handed into the local constabulary; contact made via cellphones and visits to the station, and wallets and young men reunited. Would this happen in another city further north of here? Good on you, Wellington.

i trust mr watson tracked down those responsible for handing in the wallets and rewarded their honesty? the youngster from south auckland who last week did the right thing when he found a wallet containing a large sum of money, was delighted with his reward.
