OPINION: Surely there must be some mistake?
When I heard there was to be a sculpture erected for the Rugby World Cup, I expected an expression of the creative flair Wellington aspires to and that rugby can deliver.
Instead, we are offered something totally uninspired, literal and prosaic - a man catching a ball. So much for creativity.
Good art keeps asking questions, keeps challenging. The only challenge this design poses is how to avoid it.
