OPINION: David Aitken is ignorant and uncharitable.

As a previous sufferer from clinical depression (yes, that is a recognised medical diagnosis), I applaud former All Black John Kirwan for his public spirit in talking about the disease and how he coped with it.

"Keep talking until you find someone who does get it" and "Never give up hope" are the most valuable pieces of advice that a sufferer can ever get.

Unlike most advertising, Kirwan's effort deserves a medal for public service.

I'm not sure what Mr Aitken or yourself deserve for writing and printing such trash. Thanks be to talking and hoping.
