Where will the traffic go? OPINION: The Dominion Post reports in an article outlining the key changes to the WOF system that: ''It would be unlikely that the police would have the resources to jack up your car and check the brake linings on the side of the road.''

The checking of brake linings is not and never has been part of a WOF check. The only exception would be if the brake pads could be viewed and their condition established without removing a wheel during the check.
