Jewel in the crown overlooked Goff's claims are hard to fathom When dirt sticks, you can't shake it off Refreshing to see courteous display Sir Bob Jones on the money Police need more power for parties Gorge speed limit doesn't add up Collins fallout all smoke and mirrors Words of 'honest Abe' ring true Good for Auckland, but what about us?

OPINION: I'm the Maori mother of a new Maori student at Wanganui Collegiate (Editorial, Jan 31).

Collegiate has all the ingredients to improve outcomes for Maori. My family and other parents of Maori children work hard to pay the fees and support our children. My daughter has no Maori scholarship and, therefore, our mum also helps with fees.

We need a school that pushes our daughter to the limit.

Whanganui has celebrated the integration because the school gives so much back to the community. The Government looked at the big picture.

I suggest The Dominion Post interviews the community and conducts research in future. Meanwhile, I'll go back to celebrating my daughter's successful placement into the top maths class and her opportunity to fulfil her dream of becoming a surgeon.
