Maybe it was the chance to wear a $2,800 dress to the supermarket that clinched the deal - or perhaps our Anna Paquin finally just bubbled over with joy at the fact that she's marrying her sexy co-star.
Whatever it was, the Kiwi girl known for keeping herself to herself has finally let her guard down with a high-fashion shoot and interview in glossy women's mag Marie Claire.
The interview is a slap in the face for annoying American Idol host Ryan Seacrest who begged Paquin for a quick word when she appeared with lover Stephen Moyer on the red carpet at the Golden Globes last month.
"No comment," Paquin told Seacrest. "You're really persistent, and so am I ... I'm really stubborn. Not telling ya."
But the 27-year-old told the magazine that her romance with Moyer, 40, was nothing like the other worldly love story they play out in hit vampire series True Blood.
"We're pretty mundane," she said. "We walk our dogs, rehearse lines. But our shared passion for our jobs is a really exciting thing. It's part of the reason we ended up together."
Moyer and Paquin have an almost hypnotic chemistry on screen; she plays a stroppy telepathic waitress while he is a sexy, 132-year-old vampire.
"Clearly there was a reason we were cast in that particular combination," Paquin told Marie Claire.
"But ... it's not like either of us were looking for love or anything trite like that. It wasn't something we saw happening.
"Put it this way, I don't think anyone knew before we did." So does she hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet?
"We're doing nights on season three now. I have trouble planning anything more than brunch with my friends but when the time's right, we'll do it."
The magazine dressed Paquin in a gorgeous Viktor & Rolf dress worth $2800 for the shoot, and posed her in a grocery aisle with a trolley full of purple broccoli.
Another shot shows the actress in a floaty, above-the-knee frock, showing off her fabulously long legs, leaning against a shelf of junk food.
The pictures are possibly Paquin's most glamorous to date, although she looked fabulous in shimmering Stella McCartney at the Globes, and showed off her pins in a daring Alexandra McQueen mini at the Screen Actors' Guild awards.
Paquin hit Hollywood young, winning an Oscar at 11 years old but grew up resisting the Hollywood mould: she kept that adorable gap in her front teeth, steered clear of streaky fake-tan, and gave the gossip pages a wide berth.
The best the paparazzi can do is snap Paquin out jogging, or strolling through Santa Monica with Moyer.
