High winds might have seen most Wellingtonians pull on their polar fleeces yesterday, but it was high glamour as the capital's second Fashion Week kicked off last night.
Auckland-based designers World showed their current autumn/winter collection, 'Boring Gets You Nowhere', to a sold-out crowd at Odlins Plaza on the waterfront. Richly textured fabrics - lace, velvet, sequins, gold-flecked tweed and rabbit fur accents - gave an edge to the label's elegant tailoring.
Fashion Week organiser Cameron Sneddon said he hoped the event, which concludes on Sunday, would boost the New Zealand fashion industry.
