The Burger Bunfight: Entry details

Burgers... easy to make, even easier to munch. So create your own - or add novel twists to an old favourite - and stand the chance of winning some great foodie-related prizes in our Big Burger Bunfight competition, exclusively on

Prizes include a $250 case of premium wine from Advintage, a $100 voucher from Cobar Restaurant & Bar (plus a $60 family pass for The Dominion Post ferry), $50 voucher for The Pavilion Days Bay (plus a $60 family pass for The Dominion Post ferry), a $50 voucher for lunch at CQ Hotel, a selection of craft beers from Tuatara Brewing and a top-drawer cookery book from Unity Books.

The competition has a very simple recipe: Prepare your burger at home (or work, if the boss allows that kind of thing), photograph it, and submit your entry with a few details to

Ryan Tattersall, head chef and co-owner of the Cobar Restaurant & Bar in Days Bay, will be our chief judge. He will select the Top 10 burgers - based on the recipe, innovation and inspiration. Then it's over to the public to rank the Top 10 in an online readers' poll in the first week of September. Ryan's decision on the Top 10 will be final.

All entries need to include the following:


* Burger name

* A paragraph or two on your inspiration/thinking behind the burger

* A photograph or two of your burger

* Accurate recipe

* Suggested accompaniments (if any)

* Entrant's email and contact phone number(s)

We plan to feature at least one burger a day - and ideally more - so the sooner you get your entry to us, the better your chance of fame and a small fortune. All burgers will be entered into the competition, but not all burgers may feature on

The competition runs until August 30, but please get your entries in as soon as possible. Wine/beer winners must be age 18 or over. Standard Terms and Conditions apply.
