The New York Post reported Sherzinger was no longer on speaking terms with the rest of the group, who have released two albums and scored numerous hit singles including Don't Cha, Beep and Buttons.

"It is war," a source told the paper.

"They have broken up for good. None of the other girls are speaking to Nicole, who they believe took the limelight, then went off to do her own thing."

The Post reported singer Kimberly Wyatt had revealed she hadn't heard from Sherzinger for months because she was working on her solo career.

Sherzinger attempted to go solo career last year, but returned to the Pussycat Dolls when she failed to hit it big. She performed with the group at their New Zealand show in Auckland with Lady Gaga in May.

The group's record label Interscope would only say the girls were "on a break".

OH my sweet goodness, why... they were so talented. I guess will always have my signed duvet to remind me of them! A true shame. Hopefully Sugababes continue on, or my world will be torn apart.

Oh noes!!!11 Forget those talentless hacks like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Queen...the Pussycat Dolls are the best band evahz! I am sooooo gutted right now...I think I'm going to lock myself in my room, draw the curtains, and weep into my Pussycat Dolls pillow. And blow my nose on my matching Pussycat Dolls hanky.
