Peak hour commuters travelling between Hutt Valley and Wellington have been told to expect delays following a crash on SH2.
The crash occurred just after the Hutt on-ramp, blocking the northbound left-hand land, New Zealand Transport Agency spokesman Anthony Frith said.
There were delays in both directions and on SH1 as well, with queues back to Newlands on SH1 and back to Petone on SH2, both for south-bound travellers.
Rubbernecking may be contributing to the south-bound delays on SH2, Frith said.
"We just ask people to be aware they're likely to be a little late into work today and we thank people for their patience."
Police central communications shift commander Marty Parker said the crash occurred around 8am.
