Children jump to it as Capital E reopens
Perfect timing for school holidays
Children's space Capital E has re-opened at its new premises on Queen's Wharf.
The Wellington Pump Dance Studio team performed yesterday, along with marching band members, circus artists and percussionists from local group Strike.
The doors to the kids' exhibition and theatrical space at 4 Queens Wharf were opened after the old site on Civic Square was declared earthquake prone in 2012.
Capital E has been operating out of alternate venues, including the Hannah Playhouse, even since.
Families attending the event were also invited to make their artistic mark on a life-sized mural to be displayed in the space.
The new site, E Central, will be open for school holidays this week, with the Carnival of Capital E featuring workshops on 3D printing, film-making and animation.
Is it worth it to fund a war museum in the capital for $18m?
