A car has rolled on the Rimutaka Hill Rd, where a snow warning is in effect.
The car rolled near the summit of the State Highway 2 road, between Upper Hutt and Wairarapa, on the Featherston side shortly after 2.30pm, police said.
The car did not leave the road.
Weather conditions were a factor in the crash, police said.
The driver suffered a cut hand.
NZTA has a snow warning for the road, with a spokesman saying, even if snow had not fallen, it would be icy.
MetService warned snow and sleet was falling on the Rimutaka Hill Rd this afternoon and heavy falls were likely later tonight.
Meanwhile, there have been reports of snow falling around Wellington.
Ohariu MP Peter Dunne tweeted: ''Snowflakes mixed with the rain in Churton Park in the last few minutes.''
And Hutt South MP Trevor Mallard tweeted a picture of snow-covered hills with the words: ''Cold door knocking today.''
Snow was falling in the Hutt hills, as seen in this video from The Free Store's building site.
