A second three-vehicle crash is slowing traffic into Wellington this morning.
Inspector Mike Coleman, of central communications, said three cars were involved in the nose-to-tail crash on State Highway 1 southbound near McDonald’s in Paremata shortly after 9.30am.
One lane was blocked.
There were no injuries but two cars needed to be towed away.
It was expected to be cleared by 10.30am.
Earlier today, a three-vehicle accident near the Aotea off ramp of State Highway 1 caused traffic delays.
Inspector Mike Coleman, of central communications, said the crash about 7.15am involved two vans and a motorbike.
It happened in the middle lane of State Highway 1, southbound, near the Aotea off ramp.
The scene was cleared by 8.30am but traffic was still going ‘‘very slow’’ on State Highways 1 and 2 beyond the Ngauranga Gorge intersection.
The cause of the accident was not yet known.
A Wellington Free Ambulance spokeswoman said one person was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.
