Although there has been no confirmation she will even put her hand up for the job, Labour’s long-time Rongotai MP Annette King is shaping up as the favourite to become Wellington’s next mayor, in a two-woman race.
Trading on Victoria University-owned prediction website iPredict rates Annette King with a 52 per cent chance of winning the next mayoral election as of Friday afternoon, having being rated a 65 per cent chance earlier in the week.
Incumbent Celia Wade-Brown is a distant second, rated just a 35 per cent chance.
