Street lights across parts of Wellington have been knocked out by an unknown problem.
Wellington City Council spokesman Richard MacLean said patches of lights in the CDB all the way to Johnsonville and Miramar had been affected.
The council had contacted Wellington Electricity who were investigating and it was hoped the problem would be fixed soon.
"It would be safe to say our phones are running hot at the moment," he said.
