Motorists were delayed this evening after 10 cars were involved in two separate crashes.

Inspector Ken Climo said seven cars were involved in a nose-to-tail crash north-bound on State Highway 1 near the Johnsonville off-ramp about 5.15pm, police say.

Three cars were earlier involved in another nose-to-tail crash at the south-bound entrance to the Terrace Tunnel about 5pm.

No one was injured in either crash, Mr Climo said.

"Yes, they [motorists] can expect delays until people get their cars out of the way," he said.

The crash was largely cleared by 6:15pm.

What do you think of the white peace poppy campaign?

I'm all for the white poppies.

I like the idea, but the timing's wrong.

It's contemptible and insulting.

I don't care.
