A family hold grave concerns for the safety of a man last heard from two weeks ago.

David Walter Frederick Coldicutt, 44, was last seen in Upper Hutt on November 21.

He has not touched his bank accounts or made contact with family or friends since, Senior Sergeant Jason McCarthy said.

Mr Coldicutt had mentioned he might head to the South Island to visit a friend, but police had been unable to confirm if he ever made the trip.

"David's family and friends are very worried about him," Mr McCarthy said.

Police appealed for sightings of Mr Coldicutt's blue/grey Nissan Serena registration APR576.

Anyone with information should contact Hutt Valley police on 04 560 2600 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
