Water is expected to be back shortly to Strathmore homes affected by a burst water main this morning.
Wellington City Council spokesman Richard MacLean said the water main burst on Sidlaw St about 8am, cutting water to many homes in the eastern suburb.
While the spill was contained quickly, the pipe was enclosed in concrete and could take a few hours to fix.
It was expected to be running by about midday.
