Trio face ecstasy charges after bust

Three Wellington men are facing serious drug charges after a drug-lab bust.

The 22-year-olds from the Hutt Valley and Wellington will appear in the Wellington District Court today.

The site, which police secured for examination in yesterday's bust, was believed to be used to make ecstasy.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said it was a full-scale commercial operation.

"The lab included powder, pills, chemicals and equipment including a pill press which police believe has been used to manufacture ecstasy," he said.

"We believe it was set up to distribute thousands of pills at upcoming music festivals over the New Year period."
