A pair of kittens were run over in the Miramar New World carpark this afternoon but another from its litter is alive and hiding.
Local vet Allan Probert, who was called out to the dead kittens, believed they had been dumped.
There was no other reason he could think of for them being in the carpark, where they were found dead at 1.45pm.
The kittens appeared to be well fed and were likely born into a home.
''If they were dumped they would have panicked and run in all directions.''
The two kittens were dead when he got there.
Mr Probert this afternoon went to find any remaining kittens and found one that had got away into a neighbouring property.
However, nobody was able to catch it and SPCA had been called.
The dead kittens were a tabby and a charcoal grey, while the one that was still alive was black and white.
