Troubled Interislander Cook Strait ferry Aratere is returned to service for its 2.30pm sailing today.

The ferry has been out of service for more than two days and underwent tests this morning.

Issues with the electronics had canceled sailings yesterday and on Tuesday and crews had worked overnight to fix the problem.

The lower drink-driving limits from December are:

Great - too much carnage on our roads.

Overkill - targets moderate drinkers, not the heavies

Still too little - make it zero tolerance.

Sensible - punishment is in line with lesser breaches of limit.
